SGAD
Last Friday, I had a opportunity to participate in the 13th Annual Miki Zartman Scarlet and Gray Ag Day (SGAD). I love participating in this event because it give me a chance to promote agriculture to students who have no idea about agriculture. For those of you who don't know SGAD brings about 600 students in 4th and 5th grade to The College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Science. The students will attend various sessions, I was able to teach a session of food science. In my session the students were able to rehydrate food and we talked about why it was important to dehydrate food. I throughly enjoyed my lesson. Not only did I get to teach students about food science, I was able to teach them about 4-H and the impact it had on my life. I believe that SGAD is a great program and I can not wait to be on the committee next year to help plan this outstanding event.
